No trip to the Cambodian countryside is complete without viewing the vast landscape of paddy fields! On our first stop of this tour, we will cycle by paddy fields and meet local farmers tending to their crops. Your guides will tell you more about the harvesting of paddy, an important contributor to Cambodia’s economy.
Mushrooms (not the psychedelic variety!) are a central ingredient in many rural Cambodian dishes. On our final stop of the tour, we will visit a local mushroom farmer, who will explain to us details about his trade and how this staple sustains many local communities within the village.
After meeting members of the local community, we will cycle to a local pagoda and take a short break here. As your guides tell you more about the pagoda’s significance to the local Cambodian-Buddhist community, feel free to walk around the temple grounds and speak to the monks there.
Next, we will cycle to meet locals attending to their daily activities. We will also meet a few families engaged in their respective family businesses—these are locals who work in a variety of traditional crafts, passed down from one generation to the other.
Our last interesting stop is Clay Stove Handmade Factory. With this stop, we will learn all about the process and our tour guide will explain to you more detail about it. You will definitely feel excited to see our traditional stove produced by hand, and you will have a chance to talk with our friendly local people.
