Kampong Khleang is the largest floating village in Siem Reap province. It locates about 55 km outside the city. In the villages, there are over 10.000 people living there. Our tour offers the guests to see the magnificent landscapes around Tonle Sap Lake. And they can learn more about the living styles of the citizens, who live on the water. Kampong Khleang is a landscape of wooden houses surrounded by water in the rainy season.
After leaving the van, we take the boat and cruise around 20 minutes. We will see an ancient pagoda called Kompong Kdey, located on a hill. In this stop, you will learn more about the history of this pagoda and our religion. Furthermore, looking to the east, you can view the peaceful and beautiful scenery.
Departing from the pagoda, we dig into the village and cruise along to see the villagers. See how they live and run the businesses to survive their daily lives. While visiting, we will meet local friendly citizens and have a chance of talking to the family or fishermen. And then we continue cruising to visit a local market.
Everywhere in this community always floods. But there is a place where is never flooded. Even there is big water rise up in the wet season. There is a school which locates on this hill with a monastery. Meanwhile, you can also spot a pretty nice view of the hill surrounded by water and learn more about that school.
After leaving school, we go directly to the lake. We cruise around to see some interesting places and the lives living on the boats. At the same time, you are also possible to swim or dive around there; it is very safe to swim wearing swimming lingerie shirts. After that, we cruise to the van and back to the city.
